I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS -the Lucid Lynx- released in april 2010

The error appeared while updating a 8.04.1 version of Ubuntu into this one. First I logged in into the older version of ubuntu. Then I inserted the installation disk, and the computer detected it as an uppdate package. I run the uppdate over the older version without logging out from the oldedr one. The uppdate disk was received from http://www.ubuntu.fi source.

I had the same error message when I upgraded from Hardy Heron (8.04) to Lucid Lynx (10.04). My upgrade was done via the automatic upgrade program, and I don't know which server the upgraded OS came from.

Somehow, my Lucid Lynx upgrade is functional, though the user interface response stalls from time to time. For example, I click my mouse, but have to wait 5 seconds for the intended response.

Furthermore, I get the following error message every time I upgrade any software package through the automatic package upgrade program: nvidia-kernel-common subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
