Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwenview

When I click on one out of a number of pictures (png in this case) in Dolphin Gwenview opens after a few seconds. This first picture often is completely unreadable, there are grey stripes all over it. Most times this improves when the next-button is clicked a couple of times. Even then it happens very often that the next picture is not displayed at all. There is the information of the next picture shown in the sidebar but the picture itself cannot be seen. Most time after 3-6 clicks the main view gets a refresh.

This happens with Ubuntu Ibex, KDE 4.1.2

The unreadable pictures seem to be connected to the NVIDIA driver, with nv driver that problem doesn't occur anymore. Whats still a problem is that the images are not shown sometimes in the main view when going trough a number of them with the next button. I have found that this only happens when the preview images are generated which is the case when a busy clock symbol can be seen. When I wait long enough for the preview and only then click on next everything is fine.

Are you still able to reproduce this bug? I had it before, though not using NVIDIA card. Now it seems to have been fixed. Why don't you try the nvidia driver again and see if the bug persists?

The NVIDIA driver produced a number of other problems here, e. g. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174405 so I changed to nv. However there was an update of the NVIDIA driver recently and I might try it again.

Changing to nvidia as it seems a problem with the driver and not with gwenview.

Changed in gwenview:
