Bug Description
I have been trying to get my nVidia A6200TDH graphics card to work on Gutsy since I installed it a few months ago. It was working perfectly on Feisty before I put some new drives in the machine and upgraded to Gutsy. Nothing else has changed.
I have tried installing nvidia-glx, nvidia-glx-new and the nVidia driver from their website utilising the restricted modules in apt. None of these way have succeeded and what makes it harder to debug is that I have to reboot every time because I cannot even SSH in and when I reboot the filesystem isn't always purged so I have to try again to see if I can get what is in the Xorg.0.log. I hope the details I have managed to scavenge will help someone to locate this bug for me. The packages installed are below:
dpkg -l nvidia-\* | grep ii
ii nvidia-glx-new 100.14.
ii nvidia-
I will attach what I have managed to get from the Xorg log output, but it is not very helpful (at least I don't think it is) because it contains no EE lines nor any WW lines to do with the graphics driver.
For the mean time I'll go back to the nv driver, which it's very helpful because I could really do with the extra acceleration, otherwise I could have kept my old graphics card.
Have you tried installing the driver using Envy? ( http:// albertomilone. com/nvidia_ scripts1. html )
