Is there someplace where I can go to find how to downgrade the driver? My
screen goes to garbage after I log in and I can't see anything.

I removed the nvidia proprietary driver through System Setting -> Additional
Hardware.
Now Unity appears to be fine.
Is there anything to gain from using nvidia drivers?

Bug description:
  After update of the NVIDIA driver to version 295.40 the unity 3d desktop
does not work.
  I am using a GeForce 6200 on a i386 architecture Ubuntu 12.04 beta.
