Bug Description
After upgrading to Natty the X11 startup fails at boot time. Looking into the X11 logfile I see:
[ 10.276] (II) Loading /usr/lib/
[ 10.277] (II) Module nvidia: vendor="NVIDIA Corporation"
[ 10.277] compiled for 4.0.2, module version = 1.0.0
[ 10.277] Module class: X.Org Video Driver
[ 10.294] (EE) NVIDIA: Failed to load the NVIDIA kernel module. Please check your
[ 10.294] (EE) NVIDIA: system's kernel log for additional error messages.
[ 10.294] (II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
[ 10.294] (II) Unloading nvidia
[ 10.294] (EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module-specific error, 0)
[ 10.294] (EE) No drivers available.
[ 10.294]
Fatal server error:
[ 10.294] no screens found
[ 10.294]
an lsmod tells me that the nvidia kernel module is loaded.
After restarting GDM (sudo service gdm stop/start) the X-Server is starting as it was before the upgrade to Natty.
That version is no more supported; please open a new bug report if the actual archive found version also has the same issue.
