Yes I confirm what maba just wrote in comment #22.
I only downloaded the packages nvidia-current and nvidia-settings from that PPA.
Then I installed them with dpkg in terminal.
There is no need to change sources.list that way.

Anyway, the driver runs well in maverick too. The PPA itself is for Karmic and Lucid.
