Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
After a fresh boot and relogging in after locking the screen for some time, the xorg takes up too much memory and causes the other applications to be drastically slowed down even on my machine with 2GB RAM. My laptop has Nvidia 8600 M GS graphics card and uses the proprietary driver for the same and the visual effects are enabled to a moderate level

Is it surely a bug in nvidia drivers and not in xorg?
