Display is corrupted upgrading from karmic to lucid

I got some very strange gfx behaviour from upgrading from karmic to lucid with the nvidia binary installed.

Same scenario here, updated karmic -> lucid + nvidia driver results in artifacts in images and videos, in particular darker areas (similar to DSCF0467.JPG posted by the bug reporter, see attached screenshot of a paused youtube video). Doesn't happen when booting the old karmic kernel still on the system.

That version is no more supported; please open a new bug report if the actual archive found version also has the same issue.
