Same scenario here, updated karmic -> lucid + nvidia driver results in artifacts in images and videos, in particular darker areas (similar to DSCF0467.JPG posted by the bug reporter, see attached screenshot of a paused youtube video). Doesn't happen when booting the old karmic kernel still on the system.
