random freeze

i suspect an xorg bug, but really don't know. Experiencing many random freezes, under all conditions over the past 10 days+/-.

Happens to me since about a month. IDK if xorg or some other desktop subsystem, but the screen suddenly turns unresponsive except for a very laggy mouse cursor. Most of the time it happens with firefox after seeing some video (inside firefox, like in youtube, or outside, like using videos or vlc); the video end, we go to firefox, ans out of nowhere the screen's static and the mouse looks like the machine is slow as hell.

The session's still up, as i can enter via ssh from another device. But i can't change tty with alt+ctrl+Fx, as the desktop doesn't take commands anymore.

Will try to find some log somewhere and post it here.

Updating on my side:

When i update to nvidia 450 and reboot, my system starts to freeze.
Most of times i can't even really start the session and have to do a forced reboot because nothing works, not even using CTRL+ALT+F2.

Go this bug with Kubuntu focal fossa and KDE. Tried with Gnome (with xorg) and had a similar issue, i did started the session but after some time it's freezes and i can just move the mouse and nothing else. Having to force reboot my computer.

I will try some alternatives: Downloading from nvidia website, using 450 server, using 440, using 430 and will update here if some of this solutions works.

With nouveau i have no issues.
