Bug Description

Together with screen freezes in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1267421 I get crashes about twice a day with black screen as shown on the attached screen shot 20140413_132707.jpg.

I found a similar post http://askubuntu.com/questions/408341/bug-unable-to-handle-kernel-paging-request-at-while-installing-ubuntu and tried setting as described here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1613132 various options:
- nomodeset: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset"
stopped from logging into the system. After entering password in the login screen nothing is happening, though the mouse can be moved
- acpi_osi=Linux: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nomodeset acpi_osi=\"Linux\""
seems to have no effect.

Also did a full memory test with memory86+. No problems found.

Just restarted the system and got this error without a crash

"Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at (null)"

and it was caused by palse audio as you can see on the screen shot. The last couple of times it crashed when I playing a song in a flash player online. It happened pretty quickly - during the first 2 songs, so I am suspicious it is to do with audio this time, not video driver.
