PowerMizer Performance Level stuck at 1 (middle) (Need 304.48)

This bug is a regression. I freshly installed Ubuntu 12.10 and noticed that the powermizer wasn't adapting the performance level at all. Even on Prefer Maximum Performance mode, the performance level wouldn't change to 2(max).

This problem is fixed with nvidia-experimental (304.48)

Mine is stuck at level 2 and never drops, which is a waste of power since my desktop lives in flatland.

I hear tales of it getting a bit juddery at level 0, but it would be nice to drop to level 1 without resorting to editing the Xorg file.

That version is no more supported; please open a new bug report if the actual archive found version also has the same issue.
