Bug Description

Sometimes the screen gets garbled.

This happens most times when a pull-down-menu is opened or a new application window is opened.

Also while booting or shutting down the system, the screen looks garbled until the login screen appears or the system turns off/reboots.

affects: xorg (Ubuntu) → nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu)

Maybe this is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/986831 as this issue seems to occur together with that issue.

When booting the system or shutting it down, on normal working systems there is the ubunu splash screen, but on mine the screen gets garbled and there is a pattern displayed, most times, it is white, but sometimes it has many colors.
But when the login screen appears, everything works as normal.
