Xorg failed to start nvidia or nouveau driver

Xorg failed to start Nouveau. Instead of seeing my desktop or LightDM I had to see the Xorg failsafe mode. Sadly even the option "start with a lower resolution" did not work. This was the second time I experienced this bug. I rebooted my system and then it was usable again.
