when i go to print or use office i cant read any of the text....in the boxes

This is a bug in the nvidia video driver.

A workaround fix for OOo only is as follows.

Go to System>Preferences>Appearance>Fonts

Under Rendering, choose Subpixel Smoothing.

This works perfectly if you have tried no other fixes. Regardless, it will make the menu for OOo show up.
