Bug Description

Version of driver I use is nvidia-glx-96 96.43.09-0ubuntu1. My GPU is GeForce2 MX400. It is on Ubuntu Intrepid.
When I turn on antialiasing in openoffice3 and compositing in xfwm4 or in metacity fonts in OO3 becomes unreadable (I see only short thin lines somewhere). When I'm turning off composition in WM or antialiasing in OO everything is OK.
I dont have such issues with nv driver.

The same happened here, on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex with OO 2.4.

The problem persists when I set the font rendering in Gnome's "Appearance preferences" to anything, but subpixel smoothing. If I choose monochrome it even messes up the Gnome menus and desktop. With subpixel smoothing the problem seems to go away. (thanks for the tip! It's really annoyed me having to switch to metacity whenever I want to edit a document)

Also the problem doesn't appear in metacity.

I suspect it's something to do with compositing the driver.

Same happened here. I noticed that the issue appears with all QT3 applications actually. GNOME and QT4 apps are not impacted at all.

This problem is related to the NVidia proprietary driver. When using the nv driver instead, the issue does not appear.

NVidia GeForce 4 MX 440

SW:

Forgot to say that the issue appears with the KWin composition enabled. Did not test without KWin composition.
