Nvidia 530 kernel driver monitor resolution problem

I have managed to install the drivers and nvidia-smi shows output but it does NOT detect my external monitor which used to work with previous version of the driver. Sometimes it is detected by the resolution too small

Thanks for the bug report. It sounds like the HDMI connection isn't getting the full display info (sometimes). Next time it happens, please run:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt

and attach the resulting text file here. It might be helpful to do the same also when the bug is NOT happening.

Thanks. It appears only the Intel GPU is working there, and the Nvidia driver isn't loaded because of bug 2023946. So let's deal with that first. This bug is only interesting when the driver has been loaded...

When I installed with `sudo ubuntu-drivers install nvidia:535`, all the linux-modules-nvidia-*, linux-objects-nvidia-* amd linux-signatures-nvidia-* are not installed automatically. I had to run separate `apt install` commands to install them. That's even more odd.

I have heard the maintainer of the NVIDIA drivers say that manual installation like that can fail and I don't remember his explanation as to why. Anyway, we should figure out bug 1921536 first.
