Bug Description

After while (1-5 min) using Libreoffice Cals/Writer the program crashes the running gnome session. And login screen pops up. After new login there are issues with audio playback so restart is required.
I tested both libreoffice snap and dep packages. Problem occurs with both.

My suspicion is that it is related to graphics card or driver.
Notebook Dell 7559, GeForce 960M rev a2, driver 440.62, Ububtu 20.04

After each crash I found something like below in dmesg log:
[14564.930179] NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:02:00): 32, pid=30138, Channel ID 00000018 intr 00040000
[14564.930629] NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:02:00): 32, pid=30138, Channel ID 00000018 intr 00040000

full output in attachment.

This bug is very annoying and makes the whole system useless.

Thank you for your bug report, could you add your 'journalctl -b 0' log after getting the issue?

Same issue.

Ubuntu 20.04, kernel 5.4.0-40-generic. Dell XPS 15 9560 with GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile using the 440 driver.
Issue only happens when using the "Performance" profile in the NVIDIA X server settings. No issues when using the integrated GPU.

Same goes...

Ubuntu 20.04, kernel 5.4.0-45-generic, latest updates. Nvidia package: nvidia-driver-440. Lenovo T540P, NVIDIA Corporation GK208M [GeForce GT 730M] (rev a1).

As outlined in the previous comment by Mario, the issue is resolved by simply selecting the NVIDIA "On-Demand" profile by using the nvidia server settings application (Profile "Performance" was selected by the nvidia driver package installation defaults).

The issue with graphics is not resolved it is just masked in LO and it pops up in gnome photo viewer (or how is it called). When viewing hundreds of photos the buffer turns grey after some random time and you have to restart the app. Definitely something that needs to be fixed in the driver.

Anyway is this the good place to report? Will something happen?
