Bug Description
I have a Lenovo P53 which has hybrid graphics (Intel and Nvidia). I have chosen to use "discrete graphics" which means that I am using the Nvidia card.
Until a recent update everything was working fine. After the automatic update and the upgrade from kernel 5.3.0-28 to 5.3.0-40 (and possibly an upgrade of the Nvidia drivers) the opearing system hands after I enter the login credentials. I have tried to get some output from the startup screen by removing the "quite splash" from the grub file but it does not give any error information. It just hangs.
I am using Nouveau to login to the computer, but with Nouveau I the HDMI port is not working
I can try to add more debugging information if one helps me to collect it
I am using Ubuntu 18.04.4

Command line ttys work when using either driver. Wayland works with the Nvidia drivers but once I try to connect to another screen and change the setting from "Extend screen" to "Duplicate screen" the whole computer freezes
