Bug Description

I am using Xubuntu 18.04 64 bit with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and nvidia driver 390.48.
VLC is freezing X screen at start of a video sometimes.
I could then switch to text console with ATL+f2 and kill vlc. This is remove the freeze of X.

Kernellog is showing (original order):

This looks like a bug in the display drivers though. A bug in VLC can only crash the VLC process, not the whole X server.

Tim Ritberg (xpert-reactos) wrote :

The X server ist not crashing, just halted.
After killing VLC, X is continuing.

Let's reassign this to the nvidia driver.

affects: vlc (Ubuntu) → nvidia-graphics-drivers-390 (Ubuntu)
