Bug Description

Only when using the nvidia drivers, after logging in, the cursor is not drawn on the screen. I can see its effects while moving the mouse or touchpad, as items on the panel gets highlighted, or my unity panel becomes visible. I can even click on them and everything else works.

Workaround:
Move to vt1 (CTRL + ALT + F1), log in, and restart the lightdm server:
sudo service lightdm restart. Now log in again through lightdm. This works most of the time.

Fabio, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

Could you please run the following command once from a terminal by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information:
apport-collect -p xorg 1580472

When reporting xorg related bugs in the future, please do so via the above method. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

Fabio, to clarify, does this issue occur if you remove the nvidia proprietary drivers?

No, to my memory I just experienced this using the nvidia drivers and when enabling the nvidia card (I have an hybrid optimus card)

Fabio, to further clarify, if you have the nvidia card enabled, but don't install the nvidia drivers, is this still reproducible?

I'm not sure I can use the nvidia card without the nvidia drivers as it's an optimus card. With just nouveau installed it works fine, anyaway.
