I have a dual monitor Ubuntu (15.04) setup, running on an NVS 510 (4 DP outputs), both monitors supporting UHD (3840x2160). Until today, I was able to use the monitors in their native resolution using Nvidia propietary drivers - I don't remember the exact version of the drivers, but they were NOT the latest.
However I received an Ubuntu update (to kernel 3.19.0-30 among others), and I guess that forced switching to the latest Nvidia propietary driver (346.96).
Now the second monitor no longer reports 3840x2160 as an available resolution, and checking in the Nvidia settings program I can see that the reported connection link is 4 lanes @ 2.70 Gbps, instead of the required 5.40 Gbps. |
