Bug Description

I have no further info over the fact that it happened automatically.
1) The update manager showed up (I told it to update whatever it wants)
2) Some crash reports appeared
3) I was directed to this page and asked me if I wish to create a new bug... I think I wish :)

If it's something that I'm not ought to do (maybe I should follow another bug or something), please tell me and also tell me how to delete this bug report :)

Thanks for your help!

It's affecting multiple users (me included and on two very different machines: a laptop (Dell Inspiron 7537 with GT750M graphics card ) and a desktop (ASUS M5A97 R2.0 board and GTX 260 graphics card)) and somebody probably ought to merge all of those apport-generated bug reports. Did you try:

sudo apt-get install nvidia-331-uvm --reinstall

solution after the failed update and reboot? It works for me on both machines.

Thanks for reply.
I typed
  sudo apt-get install nvidia-331-uvm --reinstall
It has just run without errors.

Output:
Loading new nvidia-331-uvm-331.89 DKMS files...
Building only for 3.13.0-37-generic
Building for architecture x86_64
Module build for the currently running kernel was skipped since the
kernel source for this kernel does not seem to be installed.

I'm not a Linux expert by any length and somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but gathering from what you've pasted here - aren't you trying to install a 3.16 kernel module into 3.13 kernel?

If so, that would probably indicate a somehow failed upgrade from 14.04 to 14.10 as according to: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UtopicUnicorn/ReleaseNotes#Kernel Utopic ships with kernel 3.16
