I don't use the 331 drivers I use 307, but for my card at least, the Novoue driver won't set to higher resolutions such as 1680x1050, and scrolling is beyond painful. Some cards might be better supported, I've got an old 7300 GT on this box. I've had to re-install the driver using the shell script provided by Nvidia since I upgraded to 14.10, and it won't work with any kernels newer than 3.18.9 so can't play with the 4.0 kernels. But I kind of figured if I want to use antique hardware and do things outside of the box, I can't expect support so haven't bothered to bitch about it. I'm using an old Mac Pro 1,1, Ubuntu is the ONLY Linux distribution that had a bootloader hacked to allow a 64-bit kernel to load on a machine with a 32-bit bios (don't ask me what Mac was thinking when they made this thing). I'm grateful that it works at all. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Eskimo North Linux Friendly Internet Access, Shell Accounts, and Hosting.
