changing nvidia drivers (under system settings) blows up unity/compiz (probably only config file - for current user [under guest account works fine])

Bug Description
There was default nouveau driver, but these one freezes ubuntu while after login (on nvidia gti 5xx cards), so i installed recommended nvidia binary driver 331, but there was some problems (like spreading windows causes some strange flickering in unity/compiz), so i tried the nvidia-331-updates driver from system settings, but then i couldn't do aptitude upgrade (there was some errors about nvidia blocking dkpg --reconfigure), so i tried to go back to nouveau driver (but changing driver from system settings was imposible) so i uninstalled al nvidia-* packages, installed nvidia-common, echoed `nouveau` to /etc/modules and reboot.
Any way, this didn't work out.
At the moment no window manager after login on my user.
Is there any way to get back default config?
Mayby that's important, but on the guest account everything is fine. Wokrs as expected.
