Steven Harms, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p nvidia-graphics-drivers-319 REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

Facundo Daniel Baru (fac-personal) wrote :

I've solved the problem by rollback the composite manger Compiz, to Metacity. Always this error appears (to me, at least), when the system finish to start in GNOME. So, I thought it was a Compiz problem.

I generated a file .desktop in the /etc/xgd/autostart directory, with the instruction:

"metacity --replace"

And, by the other hand, I deleted the Compiz and Compiz-core packages, with:

"sudo apt-get remove compiz"
"sudo apt-get remove compiz-core"

Also, I change the driver in one machine with the "nouveau" default and delete the nVidia propietary. In another machine, I left the nVidia driver privative. Since then, I haven't got the problem again. So, it works for me.
