Bug Description
Using Yakkety Yak. Received today's (26/04/2016) update which included kernel 4.4.0-22. Using Nvidia driver 340.96 which failed to build causing the restart to load to a low resolution login screen with login bounce.
Purged Nvidia and loaded with Nouveau and tried with Nvidia 304.131 and have got the same error.
Video Adapter GT220 considered obsolete by Nvidia & not supported by newest Nvidia drivers. This is the reason I am using older Nvidia drivers.
Kernel 4.4.0-22 works fine on open source video driver Gallium 0.4
