Bug Description

Binary package hint: nvidia-185-kernel-source

Using kernels 2.6.31-15-generic and 2.6.31-9-rt.

When installing nvidia using jockey on the -generic kernel, it installs only for the currently running kernel. When booting the other kernel, starting X fails with an "nvidia module not found" error. You have to manually run "dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-XXX-kernel-source" to have it properly installed on the other kernel.
