Bug Description

Booted Karmic alpha5 live CD. Changed no settings whatsoever.

Clicking and releasing the mouse on the trash icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen results in a very brief green artifact displayed on my screen. It's a line, probably a pixel wide, both at the far left and far right of the screen. It happens every time I release my mouse when clicking the trash icon. The line differs in length and position every time I click. So far, I found it only to happen when clicking the trash icon; opening a window doesn't result in the artifact.

I attached a video, showing the lines just before the window is opened.

Might be hardware related:
Using NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260, 192 core model, card by MSI. Screen is a Samsung Syncmaster 245B+, DVI connection. Single monitor. Mobo's an ASUS P5Q-E. Proc's an Intel Q9550 quad-core.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect 426449

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
