Bug Description

On the third attempt to distribution upgrade from 9.10 to 10.4, I finally got the system to not brick by adding "nomodeset" to kernel line in menu.lst.

Now the system will boot with the login screen at 2560x1600, but after login screen0 reverts to 1280x600, the and the window decorator is not working. This can usually be fixed by using nvidia X server settings and fusion-icon, but occasionally will result an a new login appearing.

Note: "ubuntu-bug -p nvidia-graphics-drivers-173" returns "nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 does not exist".
