This is a driver installation issue. The radeon driver is specified in xorg.conf which seems to mess up because some parts of fglrx are used along with it. The solution is to reset the xorg.conf file using :

  $ aticonfig -f --initial

Let's see if that's a common issue and maybe detect the installation problem like they seem to have done in Mozilla for webgl using that patch https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=515226&action=diff.
