Run ntpdate after ppp interface comes up

In Dapper the following change was made:

ntp (1:4.2.0a+stable-8.1ubuntu2) dapper; urgency=low

  * Remove ntpdate init script, instead install a script in
    /etc/network/if-up.d that sets the clock whenever we bring up a network
    interface.

I maintain a setup with an ADSL modem that works as a ppp interface. Because it comes up quite slowly, the init script aproach made booting take 5 minutes.

However, the change to /etc/network/if-up.d did not solve it, because now ntpdate is not called at all. I'm no expert here, but would it make sence to install ntpdate in /etc/ppp/ip-up.d also? It works for me.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release, Hardy Heron? Thanks in advance.

I don't have that setup anymore, so can't test if it really solves my issues, but I think this bug has been fixed in the mean time.
