ntfs-3g takes 100% of my cpu

Bug Description

It's the same copying a file from another partition to the ntfs one or just downloading a torrent in that partition, ntfs-3g takes 100% of my cpu and my pc slows down a lot even doing almost nothing...
I had this issue after the upgrade to gutsy and a new install won't fix the problem...
htop shows that:

/sbin/mount.ntfs-3g /dev/sda4 /mnt/Archive -o rw, locale=it_IT.UTF-8

i think it's a problem of the partition itself because the new install won't mount the partition and i did it by hand after the installation.
Please let me know how to fix it, my pc is almost unusable

i've seen it..
trying to enable dma gives me an error:

bigdoby@localhost:~$ sudo hdparm -d 1 /dev/sda
[sudo] password for bigdoby:

/dev/sda:
 setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Inappropriate ioctl for device

i think this is the main problem, but googling around i don't find a way to
fix the problem..

I don't think DMA is the problem but some or all the first three items:

- Not using at least NTFS-3G version 1.1004.
- Writing multi-GB files on a highly internally fragmented volume.
- Some softwares are using the most inefficient block sizes by default.

You may also have small NTFS block size but to tell that for sure I would need the output of the below command

grep -i 'dma|sd|ntfs' /var/log/daemon.log

-well.. i'm using the default gutsy package :
1.913-2ubuntu1

-not writing lot of Gb, just 30-80 kb/s from torrent... tonight i'll do a
defragmentation under windows and tomorrow i'll tell you if it's better..

result of
grep -i 'dma|sd|ntfs' /var/log/daemon.log
is empty...

sorry for my bad english

a deep scandisk with windows solved the problem.. it erased 2 files which
seems to gave problems, and now in linux my disk activity in back to
normal...
the strange thing is that on boot fsck didn't find problems on the disk and
neither windows...
maybe something should be improved in this direction?

Anyway, thank you for the help, you can close the bug... cheers
