Bug Description

Binary package hint: ntfs-3g

version 1:1.616-1
my mount options are
rw,users,exec,silent,uid=0,gid=1001,umask=007,locale=it_IT.UTF-8

ntfs-3g is case sensitive, it should be case insensitive to not create bogus files that makes mess in windows

the kernel driver vfat is case insensitive, so for sure this could be done

From ntfs-3g upstream: NTFS __is__ case sensitive unlike VFAT. Windows
supports this if one installs the Windows Services for Unix (SFU) freely
available Microsoft package.

In sort, everything behaves as it was designed. No problem on Linux and all
the files are accessible if SFU is installed on Windows.

If case insensitivity handling is desirable on Linux then I suggest
exporting the NTFS volume via Samba which should have support for
this, the same way it does for other POSIX Linux file systems.

Thank you for the report, the question will be added to the ntfs-3g support
page.
