SSSD build-depends on these two wrapper libs in order to run some additional post-build tests. They should be moved to main before our sssd package can use them though.

Oh, that is fabulous! Thanks so much, that makes it much more likely they will receive the attention they need.
But as a matter of policy, we also ask for a team bug subscriber for Ubuntu bugs too. Can you get an appropriate team to subscribe there?

actually sssd would use cmocka too for some tests, it's just disabled for now since my sbuilder fails a test which I've yet to figure out why

cmocka looks mostly fine. Small, well packaged, runs tests, has symbols file, in sync, no bugs, only used when building/testing.
The only thing missing is that team bug subscriber. :)

nss-wrapper looks great. Even has dep8 tests. The Debian maintainer is looking for someone else to take over the package, which is a bit worrying. But it doesn't seem like it takes much effort.
But that makes the need for a team bug subscriber to look after nss-wrapper in Ubuntu even more important. Please subscribe a team that will maintain nss-wrapper.
