Hi,

I've just checked it and found out that google-talkplugin package was problematic.

nspluginwarpper --configure probably calls npconfig -l and cores if there are google-talkplugin files under mozilla/plugins. An example:
amp@amp-laptop:/usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/x86_64/linux$ ./npconfig -v -l
List plugins in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
Looking for plugins in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
Segmentation fault

My solution:
remove google-talkplugin and dpkg takes care of the rest.

PS.
My system is 64bits ubuntu: Linux amp-laptop 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:24 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I'm adding this comment to clarify a possible ambiguity in my comment. The problem I described was my case, not the bug submitter Jason's. My problem seemed to be rooting from nspluginwrapper's npconfig component (while querying for google-talkplugin's binaries).

I recommend affected users to check what components are installed under /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins folder until a patch is released.
