Markup doesn't work as expected (for message title and content)

Binary package hint: python-notify

When using python Markup, the displayed notification doesn't render HTML.

sudo apt-get install python-notify
python /usr/share/doc/python-notify/examples/test-markup.py

Expected
a notification with "HTML content" (bold, italic, link ...)

What Happens:
a normal text. See Screenshot.

Seems related to #225128 but differs as it affects also the content.
Tested on 2 installs of Ubuntu 9.04 using
Python 2.6.2 (release26-maint, Apr 19 2009, 01:56:41)
