Bug Description

Although it is understandable that you would establish a default or standard of sorts for on screen notifications -- I think you will be better served if you facilitated more control by the user of its visual presentation.

In fact, you'd be better off in the long run if you replicated this project in unity terms : http://growl.info/screenshots.php

That's right - essentially port or transliterate to unity the Growl project. With that approach users get: the ability to fine tune how my gui notifies me of events by criteria of my own choosing, and in a style of my own choosing, according to my specific use case.

Frankly, there is no real way for the standards creators to ever adequately anticipate my precise needs, though I agree they should at least provide a default to fall back upon. Also, what attracted me to linux in the first place was the ability to customize presentation of the desktop environment, etc.

So, you need neither chaos nor a straight jacket to address this area of the gui beautifully. Requested : Port Growl :)

Thanks
