Bug Description
Binary package hint: notify-osd
Since an update earlier today the notify bubble stopped to fade out while my mouse hovers it.
When my mouse moves over the bubble it gets a black border filling the space around so it becomes a square.
Starting notify osd from a console does not provide any useful data thought:
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: [2010-03-
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: found panel (0,0) - 1280x24 on monitor 0
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: selecting monitor 0 at (0,0) - 1280x800
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: top corner at: 1013, 22
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: found panel (0,0) - 1280x24 on monitor 0
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: selecting monitor 0 at (0,0) - 1280x800
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: top corner at: 1013, 22
** (notify-osd:21577): DEBUG: Using image_data hint
I will attach a screenshot... guess that might help to understand the problem.

What you're seeing there is a bubble being displayed while the compositing of the wm (be it compiz or metacity+ compositor) is disabled. Check that you're running with a compositing window-manger (aka "Desktop Effects" set to anything but "None").
