Bug Description

Binary package hint: notify-osd

Some programs I use like thunderbird are using notify-send to show the notification bubbles. They work fine until I start Rhythmbox. The notify-osd process is still running and I still see notifications from the volume or brightness changes, but notifications from notify-send don't show up.
Kill and restart notify-osd won't help, only a reboot works.

I was wrong, it's not caused by Rhythmbox. On an other workspace I started VirtualBox in full screen mode. Because it's fullscreen all messages with a low priority are hidden.
But this is not right, notify-osd must know on what workspace I am. Is there a workaround for this problem?

The workaround is to patch notify-osd and to disable checking for fullscreen windows. I have done it and a modified package is in my PPA.
