Bug Description

Binary package hint: notify-osd

when volume is completely up or down a glow effect is displayed but if we keep pressed volume button it repeat it a lot of times making impossible to change volume until it catches up...
I have uploaded a video using Jaunty Jackalope BUT it is happening with Karmic Koala as well in Beta Release...

What's the relation between the two videos posted in this bug report?

http://www.youtube.com/user/slsolaris#p/u/6/UU7aNOaUZfE (blurry recording of flashing pidgin window)

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU7aNOaUZfE (recording of very old version of notify-osd)

Regarding the second video, which actually shows notify-osd, that's showing a very old version of notify-osd without the blur-cache. The throbbing (glowing) effect for overshooting the volume-setting is improved in the upstream and karmic version of notify-osd, due to the blur-cache. Please update to a more current version (notify-osd 0.9.23) either via synaptic or if you are comfortable with it via bzr and compiling notify-osd trunk yourself.
