Bug Description

Binary package hint: notify-osd

(from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notify-osd/+bug/430362)
Is there a way to use merging with notify-send ? As far as I can see, its use, with something like :

antoine@lambda:~$ notify-send -i notification-message-im hey john -h string:x-canonical-append:allowed
antoine@lambda:~$ notify-send -i notification-message-im hey bob -h string:x-canonical-append:allowed

is prevented because notify-send doesn't cumulate IDs (as seen from the debug output of notify-osd). Is there a particular reason for this requirement ? I'm trying to build notifications for emacs using notify-osd, and this prevents me from using the append feature. Why not just append if the hint is provided and the title and app match ? This should be enough to filter all false positive.

Changed in notify-osd (Ubuntu):
milestone: none → later
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → Wishlist

This seems like a duplicate of bug #257135 ?

Thanks Anders, but 257135 is about replacing, which is different from appending.

Is it difficult to solve this problem?!
