Bug Description

Binary package hint: notify-osd

hey all,

i am using Jaunty (obviously), and i noticed that the notifications system isn't customizable AT ALL.

first up, the menu isn't seen by default. i looked it up in the 'edit menus' menu, and added it up.
second, the options within it don't change a thing. not the location, and not the theme.
third, and most annoying, is the fact that when i change the ICON theme set to be different than the default HUMAN theme, the theme is changed, and not for the better. no matter which theme i'll use, it'll always be the same "secondary" theme. i noticed it's no meant to be that way, and that each icon theme has a 'status' folder within it, so why won't the notification OSD use it for the icon set?

hope this will be solved soon (like the Intel driver.. but that's another story :) )

thanks in advance..

Uri

As far as I can tell, this is the combination of three separate bugs:
Bug #420583: "Notify-osd looks are not customizable"
Bug #420514: "Position of notification bubbles could be configurable"
Bug #346095: "Regression: bubble location setting from notification-daemon is not migrated to notify-osd"

If you find another problem not covered by these three bugs, please file a separate specific bug rather than expanding the scope of the previous bugs unnecessarily by commenting.
