Updating notification's text should fade

It would be neat if the updating notification's text could fade in and out between changes in text, instead of just changing all the sudden.

We're thinking of that. But this is something that we cannot commit to right now. But patches are welcome :)

With the fade compiz plugin enabled this is done automatically, als it fades when the mouse cursor moves in/out the bubble.
The only problem is that the notification flickers (sometimes) when fading in

Ehm... what you just commented on there does not match this bugs title. There you're talking about the notification-bubbles content (the text), which you'd like to see fading, if it changes during the life-time of a bubble. In your last comment you refer to the compiz-plugin "fade", which only affects complete windows hence a notification-bubble as a whole. I think you're maybe mixing up different bugs here (e.g. https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/331564).
