There are no sound notifications, twitter and facebook

Just after I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 with unity ubuntu 14:04 by cd I had no more sound notifications, notifications from social networks like twitter and facebook if there are those that can be found in friends and I would get back if possible! If you need to know were notifications thunderbird, and those of the free chat and probably almost all the other missing but as I said those sound and social networking friends who are in image

Friends doesn't make noises, it uses notify-osd for notifications; if notifications are suddenly silent it's not because of anything in Friends (also friends hasn't changed at all in ~6 months).

Further, I've also noticed that all notifications are silent in trusty, even with my sound settings maxed, nothing makes any sound, not smuxi, not gnome-terminal, etc.

friends-app work but the pop-up notifications or ubuntu social networks are not seen! I do not know if they are related to friends-app

Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with the notify-osd package. You made this bug report in 2014 and there have been several versions of Ubuntu since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the ticket?
If it is still a problem, are you still interested in finding a solution to this bug?
If you are, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 1315734
and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
