Bug Description

1)The text in the notification bubbles cannot be selected. This prevents users from copying the text of notifications.
2)Also, notification history cannot be viewed

The supposed "vision" of notifyOSD prevents (1) from ever being resolved.

both (1) and (2) are fixed by a a ppa ppa:jconti/recent-notifications
This is an essential, CORE feature of notifications that must be available in a default install. What use are notifications for the non technical user if they are lost for good once they vanish? The loss of selectability is a regression from the old gnome notifications.

Proposed fix:
make indicator-notifications from ppa:jconti/recent-notifications available by default in all ubuntu installations.

I don't agree on making notifications' text selectable, any potentially important information that could be selectable should appear in a dialog box instead.

Changed in notify-osd (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
summary: - No simple way to copy text from or view history of notifications
+ No simple way to view history of notifications
