notification-daemon (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: notification-daemon

Viewing the information for popup notifications with ubuntu software center:
The hyperlink includes the final period in the description.

This is minor, but should be an easy fix.

The simple solution is to remove the period.
A better solution would be to use the Homepage field.

ok could someone help me and tell me how to reproduce this pop up for my self? i checked the code and i found some cases that did have a dot at the end, but by trying those links from the code i think they are missing 'cgi' at the end ?
should be

or am i looking at the wrong files?

The files to check should be the control files in the notification-daemon package's debian directory, http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/oneiric/notification-daemon/oneiric/view/head:/debian/control.in and http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-branches/ubuntu/oneiric/notification-daemon/oneiric/view/head:/debian/control

Also note that the best way to fix this bug would be to remove the URL from the description and use the Homepage field in the control file to set it into, as specified on http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-controlfields.html#s-f-Homepage

This bug was fixed in the package notification-daemon - 0.7.1-2ubuntu1

notification-daemon (0.7.1-2ubuntu1) oneiric; urgency=low

  * debian/control.in: Removed the very last sentence of the description,
    which was nonsense.
  * debian/control.in: Made the URL at the bottom of the description a
    homepage instead. (LP: #557887)
