Notifications not updated to Jaunty-style

Binary package hint: notification-daemon

After an upgrade from Intrepid to Jaunty, the new style notifications are not evident. When I run 'notification-properties', and choose 'Preview', the following error is reported in a dialog:

Error while displaying notification: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)

Notifications from Rythmbox and Pidgin show the same behaviour as with Intrepid.

Workaround found:

sudo apt-get install notify-osd fixed the problem for me. I have no idea why that package was not included in the upgrade, but there you go!

Ubuntu's bug, not notification-daemon's fault. But it's probably resolved now, since there are no duplicates I can see. Please reopen against Ubuntu if this isn't the case. Thanks.
