What was the exact command you ran? `nginx-core` and `nginx-full` can't run together, they're conflicting packages. YOu can only use `nginx-core` OR `nginx-full` OR `nginx-light` OR `nginx-extras` - you can't use them all together.

I was unable to install nginx package if port 80 was opened. I need to free port 80 in order to install nginx.

After getting this I found out that I had apache2 running.
Stopped apache2, purged all apache2 and nginx files.
Did autoclean and autoremove. Then installed with apt-get install nginx.
Succeeded.
