Bug Description

I have a desktop system that was installed as 11.10 and now upgraded to 12.04 beta 2.

NFS mounts specified in /etc/fstab do not work. Booting gets stuck and I don't get a graphical login screen. When using recovery mode and bringing up the network, the error message I get is "Name or service not known" from mountall.nfs. After this, nothing seems to happen, at least not for several minutes.

I was able to work around the issue by configuring eth0 in /etc/network/interfaces instead of using NetworkManager as before. So the problem seems to be that interfaces managed by NetworkManager are not working at the time when NFS mounting is performed. This is a regression from 11.10, it used to work just fine before upgrading.

This is the line from /etc/fstab that defines my NFS mount (slightly redacted):
xxx.yyy.fi:/vol/zzz /common nfs rw,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,nodev,hard,intr,bg,tcp,vers=3 0 0

Note that DNS resolution is necessary for mounting as I don't have the NFS server specified in /etc/hosts

This may be related to bug #862928 (which was about NFS servers but otherwise similar).
