Binary package hint: network-manager
NetworkManager is installed by default on Ubuntu 7.04. I think it could be a problem on Wireless Network with Ralink2500 client and WPA encryption. I follow instruction on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/RalinkRT2500 for WPA encryption. This package doesn't work well in that configuration and It's a problem to configure correctly RT2500 driver with WPA. I suggest to correct this bug or NetworkManager won't be a default package on Ubuntu installation. |

Partial Solution: Uninstall network-manager-gnome. Sudo apt-get purge network-manager-gnome |
